Labeling Bath and Body Products for Valentine’s Day

Grow Sales by Labeling Bath and Body Products for Valentine’s Day

bath and body product labels from Lightning Labels

Labeling bath and body products for Valentine’s Day could increase sales.

Labeling bath and body products for Valentine’s Day can help increase brand presence. While many consumers rush straight to the candy aisle in early February, there are many other gifts that are appropriate for this season. Put some effort into designing bath and body product labels for Valentine’s Day and shoppers will be more likely to consider these products for presents. This holiday has become a major gift-giving holiday, according to the National Retail Federation, so you can encourage consumers to get more creative with their purchases. In 2013, half of consumers shopping for the holiday spent roughly $1.6 billion on candy. It’s time for shoppers to get more creative with their presents. In addition, the choice of sweets may not work very well for loved ones who are dieting as a result of a New Year’s resolution.

Make Lotion Labels for Valentine’s Gifts

Creating lotion labels for Valentine’s gifts encourages shoppers to buy your brand. Whether you just want your loved ones to relish in the luxurious fragrance of a product, or you’re providing the gift of comfort for dry and chapped skin, lotion is an under-appreciated Valentine’s Day gift. Especially during the coldest months, the gift of soothing body products can be a great one. Don’t neglect lotions and other body products during marketing campaigns for February. Instead of flowers, provide an incentive for shoppers to buy floral-scented lotions instead. Flesh out labels with floral imagery that reflects the scent of the product. Another option is to simply alter the colors of the label to be more in line with Valentine’s Day. Make reds, pinks and purples the dominant motif.

Create Valentine’s Product Labeling for Various Items

Putting some extra effort into Valentine’s product labeling could be worth your while. Dress up lotions and other goods with heart-shaped imagery to promote them for the holiday. Some creative use of text can function in a similar way. You can make your product label into a valentine. Businesses that make beverages should also take the opportunity to grow sales. Wine is a big part of the Valentine’s Day experience and shouldn’t be neglected. For couples having a candle-lit dinner at home, this is a common beverage choice. Of course, different people have varying tastes, so designing beer, liquor and non-alcoholic sparkling ciders for the romantically inclined could also be beneficial. Even goods that may seem uncommon for Valentine’s Day will be gift-worthy if they are packaged with love.

While it may feel like the Christmas gift-buying season begins earlier every year, many people wait until the last minute to purchase items for their loved ones, friends and colleagues. In fact, according to the National Retail Federation, 16 percent of shoppers don’t begin buying presents until the first two weeks of December. Many don’t start shopping until the second half of the month.

December can be a very profitable time for businesses large and small, especially ones that capitalize on the marketing opportunity with decorative labels that make their items stand out. Once you have a holiday design in mind for your product packaging, Lightning Labels’ high-speed service can provide you professional, eye-catching labels to help your items sell this holiday season.

3 Tips for Creating Labels for Christmas Gifts

Lightning Labels is giving businesses the chance to make last-minute labels for Christmas gifts with fast label ordering and high-quality labeling solutions. To help you get started on your decorative labels, here are three design tips:

1. Use Impactful Language on Gift Labels: Depending on who you’re targeting, your product may perform best if your gift labels contain humorous language, like puns or plays on words. For more elegant products, craft product descriptions that are short and feature vivid language. Using different fonts and colors can also make the wording on your labels stand out. Lightning Labels’ printing technology ensures all text on your labels, large or small, is clear and legible. Additionally, our four-color process produces any range of colors, from bright and bold tones to pale and soft ones.

2. Don’t Skimp On Quality: When you order gift labels from Lightning Labels, you don’t have to sacrifice quality for speedy service and affordability. Our advanced printing and customizable labeling solutions ensure every aspect of your design is printed perfectly on distinctive label materials. No matter how quickly you’re creating labels, make sure they look professional and attractive.

3. Consider a Durable Label: When it comes to label materials, if you sell foods, beverages or body-care products, you may want to choose a material that is resistant to water and oil. Lightning Labels’ durable materials can protect your label design from leaks, spills, water condensation and more, ensuring gift labels maintain their holiday cheer wherever your product is used.

Spring Forward with Seasonal Custom Labels and Stickers for Products

Put a Spring in Your Custom Labels and Stickers for Products

Custom Printed Labels and Stickers

Whether celebrating a holiday like Easter or doing some spring cleaning, custom printed labels and stickers can add the perfect touch.

As more sunshine starts streaming through the windows and brightly colored eggs and holiday products fill store shelves, Lightning Labels is delivering seasonal tips to help readers spring forward with ease and aplomb.

With spring holidays approaching, many manufacturers are making spring-themed custom labels and stickers for products for Easter, Passover or simply to decorate products with fresh, updated designs.

Whether a business or manufacturer chooses to focus on a specific holiday or the spring season in general, the simple act of touching up labels with on-trend seasonal elements shows customers the product is up to date, relevant and new. When having a spring fling with a new design or color, however, remember to remain true to the product’s core branding so that it is still recognized by consumers.

One idea some businesses may choose to employ is to order Easter or spring-themed company stickers and labels that are relevant to the brand but can be removed at the end of the season. Seasonal labels are ideal for gifts this spring as well, whether for an Easter basket or a tag that complements a party favor.

Businesses can also use a seasonal design on printed labels as part of a limited-edition offer to make products seem more special and timely.

Spring Clean with Custom Printed Labels and Stickers to Organize the Home and Office

With spring cleaning efforts beginning, now is an opportune time to make custom printed labels and stickers that help organize the office and the home. Free up space at home by gathering bins, decorative boxes or other containers to compartmentalize items. Labels can help organize everything from the closet to the pantry, minimizing clutter and maximizing space.

De-Clutter the Closet at Home with Simple Tips

An attractive and simple idea that can reduce closet clutter is to use custom printed labels and stickers on bins or decorative boxes. Having separately labeled containers for scarves, gloves, socks/hosiery, belts and other accessories creates a sense of order and starts the day on a relaxing note. Have a custom label for each set of items and arrange the labeled bins in accordance with season and use. For example, swap out containers labeled for winter scarves and gloves and move spring seasonal accessories to the front of the closet as temperatures climb.

A similar spring sweep can be accomplished by labeling smaller containers for items such as cosmetics or smaller accessories. For an elegant touch, place makeup brushes, Q-tips, cotton balls and other other toiletries in glass jars with custom labels. This is an attractive way to organize items that can clutter dresser tops, bathroom cabinets and bureau drawers.

Labeling storage boxes and bins is also an easy way to keep the home organized, attractive and efficient.

Organize the Office with Company Stickers and Labels

Using company stickers and labels to organize the office space can save time and give businesses a more professional appearance. Using color-coded stickers and assigning a different color for each specific group of papers or office items makes organizing the filing cabinet and retrieving needed documents more efficient and easier on the eyes.

Some workers also find it helpful to place sticker labels on each compartment of a drawer organizer that identifies what should get placed in that space. This is a simple way to ensure  pens, paper clips and other office supplies remain in one place, even on the most frenetic of days.

To help spring organizing efforts, Lightning Labels is offering 10% off online orders of $500 or more through April 8, 2013, plus a chance to win a 70″ flat screen TV using promo code MARCHTV at checkout. Orders of $500 or more qualify for automatic entry and for every $500 spent one additional entry is earned. The maximum discount is $1000. Free ground shipping applies to regularly priced orders shipped only within the US & Canada. This offer cannot be combined with any other offers or promotion. Visit LightningLabels.com for details. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day With Custom Labels and Stickers

New St. Patrick’s Day Custom Labels and Stickers Will Bring Out the Holiday Spirit

custom labels

Prepare your custom labels and stickers for St. Patrick's Day packaging.

Lightning Labels, a custom label and sticker printing leader, encourages manufacturers to take advantage of St. Patrick’s Day to give products a festive temporary makeover.

While Valentine’s Day may have just passed, it’s never too early to start planning the next marketing campaign. With the gift-giving holidays out of the way, brands now have the opportunity to try new, fun custom packaging ideas.

St. Patrick’s Day is an especially important holiday for brands because unlike Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day, it’s not centered exclusively around one target audience like couples or moms. Every age group and demographic celebrates the holiday in a variety of ways. Brands can take advantage of incredible marketing opportunities on St. Patrick’s Day by revamping printed stickers and labels.

“Young families, couples and friends all celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, which means brands have more audience targeting options,” says Tammie MacLachlan, Lightning Labels Customer Service Manager. “In addition, seasonal packaging always creates a sense of urgency in consumers, because they realize the holiday and the special version of a product won’t be around for long. Even if consumers aren’t looking for festive products next month, new custom labels are sure to command attention. Lightning Labels can help companies effectively reach shoppers by providing them high-quality, unique and fun stickers and labels for their products.”

4 St. Patrick’s Day Marketing Ideas for Custom Labels

By embracing holidays on product custom labels, manufacturers tell consumers that a brand is festive, fun and unique. As marketers ponder which angle to take next month, consider these tips from Lightning Labels:

1. The Luck Of The Irish
The four-leaf clover is a great symbol to incorporate into products’ packaging next month. Marketers can use the image to help consumers understand how “lucky” they are to find the product. Consider adding text that states how fortunate the company is to have such great followers and fans and thank them. Consumers will appreciate this, which can boost brand image.

2. Saving Big Time
Green is a great color for marketers because it can be associated with so many things, including money. St. Patrick’s Day is a great time to inform consumers how affordable and valuable a product is, so don’t forget to mention it on custom labels and stickers. For example, can consumers get many uses out of the product? Does buying a product eliminate the need for shoppers to purchase several other items?

3. Promote Sustainability
Green is also the color of eco-friendliness, a characteristic millions of consumers value and look for when they shop online and in stores. St. Patrick’s Day is a great time to remind them of how and why products respect the environment.

Lightning Labels is committed to embracing sustainable practices and carries EarthFirst PLA, an eco-friendly label material made from corn instead of petroleum.

4. Help Consumers Celebrate
Across the country, St. Patrick’s Day is a time to unwind with a pint or two and celebrate. Embrace the party spirit by letting product packaging show consumers how the brand fits into the holiday. For, example, maybe a food product goes great with a traditional Irish beer, or maybe it helps consumers recover after a little too much liquid cheer.

Low Resolution Gets Thumbs Up for Halloween Costume, Thumbs Down for Digital Printing

KindaCarsick‘s blogger dressed up as “Low Resolution Lady” for Halloween this year. Her costume is pure genius; it’s been a long time since I have seen a costume this creative!

When it comes to digital printing, however, low resolution is nothing to be admired. A low resolution image that is sharp and clear on your computer screen will likely be pixelated in print … compromising the aesthetic appeal of your labels, and sometimes the legibility of text images as well. Along with image color mode, having the correct image resolution for any digital files to be printed is EXTREMELY important to ensuring your labels are printed with the correct colors and clarity.

The good news is, preventing your labels from turning out like Low Resolution Lady’s face isn’t a guessing game. To ensure that your label designs look as beautiful in print as they do on your computer screen, I recommend that you review our art specifications before sending us any design files to be printed.

Here at Lightning Labels, we require all raster (image-based) files to have a resolution of 300 d.p.i. at actual size. And in case you are wondering about our image mode requirements, we only print in CMYK. If you happen to send us a file in RGB mode, we will convert it … and that might not produce the exact colors you had in mind. And if there is any doubt about how your labels will look in print, you might consider taking advantage of our free press proof offer, which lets you preview exactly what your labels will look like before placing your final order.

The Château Mouton Rothschild Wine Labels

Rothschild I thought we should end the year with something fun. Château Mouton Rothschild is acknowledged as the world’s greatest Bordeaux but what interests me most about them are their labels. Every year they commission a famous artist or sculptor to create an illustration for their wine labels. The painting featured on their 2004 (the latest vintage) was actually done by Prince Charles. Other famous names such as Picasso, Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali have all had their work printed on these wine labels.

Recently I stumbled across this website that displays the entire collection of labels produced for Château Mouton Rothschild dating back to 1946. It is interesting to see how the styles and colors have changed through the years. Many of these labels have become real collectors items.

If you are lucky enough to bring in the New Year with a bottle of Château Mouton Rothschild (the 2004 retails for around $300) then 2008 was probably a good year for you.

Happy New Year.
